Dr. Stavros George Drakos is a Professor of Medicine and the Co-Director of the Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism Center (CRMC) at the University of Utah Health & School of Medicine. He is also the Co-Director of the Heart Failure, Transplant and MCS Program and the Director of the Muscle Biology Section at the Nora Eccles Harrison CVRTI. He holds the H.A. & Edna Benning Presidential Endowed Chair and has published clinical studies in heart failure together with original scientific work generated in the laboratory which led to the establishment of the award-winning Utah Cardiac Recovery Program (UCAR). Dr. Drakos has mentored over the years several individuals who are now independent faculty in academic medical centers in the US and overseas.
