Louis R Dinon Professor of Clinical Cardiology
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
Philadelphia , Pennsylvania, United States
As an academic clinician serving the field of Advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension for over 20 years, Dr Rame has led nationally and internationally recognized programs with a philosophy of timely, patient-tailored and team-work aligned performance for complex cardiac and pulmonary
vascular disease management. The credo for clinical management in the midst of complexity—"intervene with as minimum therapeutically as possible BUT as much as is necessary.” His research has spanned several areas of myocardial plasticity—metabolic adaptations of the failing heart which
thrusted the ketone hypothesis in heart failure and the myocardial response to mechanical unloading with long term assist devices. Currently he holds the Louis R. Dinon chair of Clinical Cardiology as Professor of Medicine and Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he was recruited in 2020 to redesign the section of heart failure, and heart transplant as Enterprise Chief of Advanced Cardiac and Pulmonary Vascular Disease. He is proud to be the father of 3 children and lives with his wife Elizabeth the love of his life.
