Dr. Davila is a dual board-certified interventional cardiologist and advanced heart failure specialist at Yale School of Medicine and Yale New Haven Health. He plays a central role in the development of mechanical circulatory support and cardiogenic shock programs across multiple campuses. His translational research focuses on ventricular unloading, myocardial perfusion, and invasive hemodynamics during acute ischemia, integrating advanced imaging and large-animal models.
Dr. Davila completed fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was the recipient of the Robert Kung Fellowship Award. He subsequently completed advanced training in structural heart interventions at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He is among a select group of cardiologists nationally who are board certified in both advanced heart failure and interventional cardiology.
He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Einstein Medical Center, where he was selected to serve as Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Davila earned his medical degree with honors from Universidad Central de Venezuela. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in cardiogenic shock, acute mechanical circulatory support, and structural interventions in advanced heart failure.
