Dr. Gavin W Hickey is an advanced heart failure/transplant, and pulmonary hypertension cardiologist and is certified in cardiovascular disease, and advanced heart failure/transplant. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Medical Director of the VAD Program, Program Director for the Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant and Pulmonary Hypertension Fellowship and Director of the Cardiogenic Shock Program at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He received his medical degree from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh Internal Medicine Education Program followed by his Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant and Pulmonary Hypertension Fellowship at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
His clinical and research interests include heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support and cardiogenic shock.
