Imran Baig, MD is a board-certified interventional and structural cardiologist specializing in minimally invasive treatment of valvular heart disease and complex coronary interventions. He has advanced training in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), complex mitral and tricuspid valve disease, and percutaneous treatment of coronary chronic total occlusions (CTOs).
Dr. Baig is deeply committed to timely, transparent communication with his patients, and his mission is to deliver highly individualized, comprehensive, tertiary-level cardiovascular care using the most advanced evidence-based therapies available.
He serves as Principal Investigator of the TAVI-CLOSE trial, a study focused on optimizing large-bore arterial access by evaluating suture-based and collagen-based vascular closure strategies. In addition to his research leadership, Dr. Baig is the Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Baylor Scott & White, where he oversees clinical quality, innovation, and procedural excellence. He is actively involved in numerous clinical trials spanning interventional cardiology and structural heart disease, contributing to the advancement of minimally invasive cardiovascular therapies.
In recognition of his leadership, academic contributions, and commitment to advancing the field, Dr. Baig was awarded the Early Career Leadership Scholarship at CRT 2025
