ACHD Critical Care Nurse Practitioner
Texas Woman's University
Houston, Texas, United States
Molly Conklin Fulkerson, MSN, AGACNP-BC is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in the Adult Congenital Heart Disease program at Texas Children’s Hospital. Her clinical practice focuses on the longitudinal and acute management of adults with complex congenital heart disease, including patients with failing Fontan physiology, advanced heart failure, and life-threatening arrhythmias. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams across critical care, electrophysiology, and advanced heart failure services to manage high-acuity congenital patients presenting with cardiogenic shock and post–cardiac arrest syndromes.
Mrs. Fulkerson has a particular interest in the hemodynamic complexities of Fontan circulation, shock recognition in nontraditional cardiogenic shock phenotypes, and bedside decision-making in critically ill ACHD patients. Through her clinical role, she contributes to the development of collaborative care models that bridge adult congenital cardiology and shock teams. Her presentation highlights the challenges and management considerations of cardiogenic shock complicated by ventricular arrhythmias in failing Fontan physiology.
When Molly is not in scrubs at work, you can find her out running or biking the bayous of Houston or strength training at F45. She also enjoys exploring and traveling with her husband, Nick, and spending valuable time with her loved ones and family.
