Jennifer Copreros, BSN, RN, CCRN, NE-BC, is the Clinical Director of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, a high-acuity tertiary referral center and regional destination for advanced cardiovascular and cardiothoracic care in Northern Virginia. She provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for a multidisciplinary critical care team of more than 150 nurses, technicians, and leaders delivering care to patients with complex conditions including cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and postoperative cardiac surgery.
In her role, Jennifer leads the coordination and performance of a highly specialized program managing patients requiring advanced cardiovascular and cardiothoracic critical care, including cardiac surgery patients and those supported with intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella devices, ECMO, LVADs, and other advanced therapies. She drives outcomes related to quality, safety, patient experience, and workforce engagement while partnering closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, transport teams, and system leaders to optimize care delivery across the continuum from regional referral and transport through recovery and transition of care.
Her professional focus includes shock system optimization, cardiovascular critical care transport, patient safety, and interdisciplinary program development. Jennifer has spearheaded multiple initiatives to expand access to advanced cardiovascular services, strengthen regional transfer networks, reduce risk during high-acuity transitions, and build psychologically safe, high-reliability care environments. Her leadership emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and the development of high-performing teams capable of caring for some of the most complex patients in the health system.
