Efstratios (Stratos) Koutroumpakis, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Cardiology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he specializes in cardio-oncology. His clinical and research work focuses on the prevention, early detection, and management of cancer therapy–related cardiovascular toxicity. He serves as a key co-investigator on two active National Institutes of Health R01 grants investigating the cardiovascular effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Dr. Koutroumpakis’s work is recognized by the broader scientific community, as reflected by his service as an NIH Early Career Reviewer and as a reviewer for high-impact journals including JACC: CardioOncology. He is also an active member of the Cardio-Oncology Section Leadership Council of the American College of Cardiology, where he chairs the Fellows-in-Training (FIT) Workgroup.
